The summer school about the war and peace journalism was organised by a network "Strategic communication competencies for leadership" in Uppsala University. On 11-16 of June students and teachers have participated in the international summer school 2018 War and Peace Journalism in an Age of Global Instability that was held in Sweden, at Uppsala University. There were more than 60 students and teachers from academic partners from Vilnius University, Turība University, Estonian Business School, Tartu University, Uppsala University have joined activities in Uppsala.
The program of summer school consisted of various lectures and workshops where students learned how to decode propaganda, how to stay professional and ethical journalist in the war zone, how to present news and work together with other journalists. Students had the opportunity to visit Swedish Presidency and Council of the Baltic Sea States where they had some tasks to do. They have met and had lectures, discussions on important issues in society with practitioners. Journalist Vanesa Beeley presented a different point of view on war propaganda and Tajdar Aziz gave a lecture on practical aspects and implications of war and peace journalists from NGO’s perspective.
