Network Strategic communication competencies for leadership (SCCL) is established under NordPlus Higher Education programme framework at 2015. It composes of five academic partners (Vilnius University; Turība University; Estonian Business School; Uppsala University; University of Tartu) and is coordinated by Faculty of Communication at Vilnius University.
Network unites leading communication schools in Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden and Estonia working in the field of communication. Every member of the network has its’ own exclusive competence in specific areas of communication: representatives from Uppsala University work on the field of nation branding, crisis communication; Vilnius University – public diplomacy and information warfare, intercultural communication; Turība University – communication campaigns, reputation management and branding; Estonian Business School – public relations, storytelling; University of Tartu - joined the network in 2017, - mass communication and journalism. The variety of topics from network’s schools creates a possibility to search for an innovative approach toward teaching and training strategic communication competencies.
The establishment of the network creates a framework for future cooperation and the implementation of strategic and jointly defined projects. It’s agreed that the partnership will include various activities, such as: exchanges in teaching and research, as well in life-long learning projects; mutual sharing of information and experience; implementation of joint projects, etc.
The aim is to exchange and to pool capabilities and strengths of the universities and, as a result, strengthen position in the regional and international academic landscape.
The idea is to share knowledge and create the network of excellence in the field of communication, for that purpose the expertise in providing activities related with the network activities (such as providing study programs, organising of summer schools, conferences and discussions) are crucial.
