Academic Qualification
Dainius Vaitiekūnas, a literary scholar, pedagogue and Doctor of Humanities, studied Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius Pedagogical University (now Vytautas Magnus University, Academy of Education), where he received his Bachelor's degree in 1994 and Master's degree in 1995. In 2000, he defended his PhD thesis in Humanities.

Membership
- Since 2012 member of the editorial board of the periodical Semiotics, a periodical of research papers of Vilnius University.
- Since 2018 – member of the Patronage Council under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
- Since 2020 – member of the Editorial Board of the Lithuanian Comparative Literature Association's scientific periodical Acta Litteraria.
- From 2021 – member of the Lithuanian National UNESCO Commission.
