"Today, there is a growing need for specialists who can combine an understanding of contemporary communication needs with entrepreneurial thinking in both digital and business environments," says Dr Mariana Sueldo, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Communication and Chair of the new programme.

Associate Professor Dr Jurgita Vizgirdaitė, Head of Studies and Deputy Director at the VU Business School, shares a similar perspective: "The World Economic Forum highlights the increasing importance of skills such as creative thinking, effective use of artificial intelligence, technological literacy, and adaptability. The ‘Innovative Communication and Entrepreneurship’ programme has been specifically designed to address these needs."

An Interdisciplinary Approach to Learning

The partnership and collaboration between Vilnius University’s faculties ensures that the new programme integrates key competencies from both communication and entrepreneurship disciplines. The programme aims to develop future entrepreneurial leaders who can apply competencies in communication, digital marketing, and business to manage communication processes, tackle entrepreneurial challenges creatively, drive change, develop and implement strategies and innovations.

"This programme embodies interdisciplinarity. The integration of communication and business disciplines ensures that students gain knowledge in both fields," emphasises Dr Vizgirdaitė.

According to Dr Sueldo, the programme is designed for creative, innovative, and forward-thinking individuals who wish to combine communication expertise with entrepreneurship and innovation. "Students will develop a solid and well-rounded foundation in modern communication, entrepreneurship, and digital skills, preparing them for dynamic roles across various sectors – from integrated communication agencies and corporate communication management to start-up development," explains Dr Sueldo.

From International Studies to Global Careers

The "Innovative Communication and Entrepreneurship" programme will be conducted in English. According to the leaders of this programme, students will be encouraged to engage with the global communication and business landscape from the very beginning of their studies—participating in international discussions and projects, collaborating with foreign lecturers and organisations, and analysing both local and international best practices.

The programme will begin on 1st of September 2025, with a 3.5-year study duration. Graduates will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences.
