On the 3rd December, the Vilnius University SPEAR team organized meeting with potential change agents, who spread the SPEAR message and initiate implementation of GEPs in the pro-active faculties at the university.
During the meeting, after presentations of planned SPEAR activities, GEP implementation tools and data on women’s and men’s distributions at the university, and the strategy for diversity and equal opportunities at the VU for 2020-2025, discussions tackled importance of involvement of all stakeholders for successful implementation GEPs at the university as well as administrative, financial, and cultural challenges that exist in the current university environment.
In addition, during the interactive session, participants critically discussed the university from perspective of gender-sensitive organization. The meeting was great opportunity for community members to gather for reflecting on their personal gender equality related experiences in their close working environments and for highlighting important organizational aspects that will facilitate GEP implementation at the Vilnius University. The Faculty of Communication has also been involved in the implementation of gender equality plans.
